Hi, I see on Pocket Wizard's site that they have the CM-N3-P listed for remote shutter release w/pre-trigger. They not it's not recommended for the FlexTT5.

Any idea why this is? I have one of these cables, and before I try it, just want to make sure it won't damage anything. Don't really see how it could. I'm not triggering a remote flash, just the camera itself.

thanks

Check with Lon at Flash Zebra. He lists this one and shows the 7D in the compatible list. It probably costs less than from PW too. :)

You need a remote release cable which has a stereo miniphone plug on the remote end. As already mentioned by Desden, Flash Zebra carries such a cable for use with the FlexTT5 and the MultiMax remotes.
