Does flickr keep your photos after you delete them? I deleted a photo a few days ago from my photostream and the link to it still works for some reason? Never used to be like that.

According to Flickr you should be able to delete your photos and, they warn, "it is permanent". Don't know why yours still appeared, unless it takes some time to "take". You might want to contact Flickr and ask them yourself.

I'm not a Flickr user -- would deleting from your Photo Stream automatically delete the photo from your account, or are they different things?

It normally would but sometimes it does take time, facebook is notorious for things to happen slowly

FB has also said in the past (perhaps still?) that any info/pics/etc you put up remain in their system forever and ever, even after you delete it...creepy.

Most of the large sites keep this type of data indefinitely. "Deleting" has the effect of removing said content from the Internet, but it will usually continue to exist on their servers.

I've heard this before but I always kind of wondered what they truly are getting out of the data. I know storage space isn't that expensive anymore but it still isn't free, especially when you're talking about redundant data on enterprise class drives, so they obviously see something in the information that makes it worthwhile for them to store.
