Does anyone know if a 7D L-bracket would fit "in a pinch" on a 5DMkii body? I have a 7D with the L-bracket and I'm twitching my finger over the buy it button for the 5Dmkii as it still is $1999 in Canada till the end of the month. If I decide to buy I may not be able to get the 5D L-plate before I go on vacation. On vacation I will mostly be shooting landscapes and this is why the 5D is sooo tempting me.

I already have the 24-105 F4 on my 7d and would start off with this lens for my landscape work (although also considering the 17-40!!). I hate this damn 5D deal as I sort of want to wait for more info on the MkIII but realistically, I doubt we will see it available to actually purchase till late summer or early fall.

So if anyone has both these cameras and RRS L-plates I would love to know if it fits "sort of" or not at all. Also if anyone wants to try and convince me to buy or not to buy the 5D MkII then fire away!!! I change my mind about it every 10minutes.

Buy the specific one for each body. They are designed to be compatible with only one body. There are a few that can somewhat work with other bodies, but still, that then becomes a weaker link in the chain of stability one should be trying to build by upgrading and purchasing such gear.

Here's your plate

order that camera, you know you want it and that price is excellent. 17-40 is a nice lens for it.
If you don't want to screw around with the plate on EBay, call RRS today and order it.
