Just how bad are the dust problems with the 17-55?

I've had mine for 5 months with no dust at all.... and I live in a dusty climate on the Colorado plains.

Mine has some dust, after about 3 years (no filter). it doesnt affect the images at all.

I may clean it, tho it may get sold soon.

I had mine for 5 months, and if I look real close, in the right light, then I can see a few specks on the front element.

My images are still pointy sharp, can't tell a difference.
