Renting gear prices

I wasn't sure where to post this thread, so i chose this forum, but if it is in the wrong one then mods please move it to where it should be, but i hope to be moved where it can be seen and have posts, it may not last longer, but at least to get some answers to help me somehow.

Well, before yesterday[Wednesday] i talked with a friend, he is working or in touch with a company or something like that and they offer photography gear for rent, we talked about few things in photography and i know that he is trying to marketing this company service, well, i asked him what he is looking for with me, then he asked me what i am looking for or expecting from this company, then i told him that i need to get paid or have money as normal thing any photographer with pro bodies look for.

He asked me to provide him a list with gear i have and the gear i want to offer for rent with prices, i don't know what should prier or standard prices for the gear i will offer, he has very nice renting prices so i can't ask him higher prices than what he is offering there, so i will post the gear i am looking for to offer for rent and let me know what you think or even you recommend the price should be?


The list of the gear i would like to offer for rent:

I think this is enough for beginning, later i may add more, and maybe i will not offer all these for rent, i will check what they will need, but those are the main gear list i will go to offer, what do you think the prices should be? The rates are per day

Try this. Go to www.lensrentals.com Do a sample of the rental pricing and compare that to the replacement cost. That should give you a ratio. If its averages 1/10 of replacement for a day or weekend then you have a starting point. The same goes for any ratio. Of course your market may allow for higher rates and some gear may be too fragile to rent without some sort of premium.

Just for general information, i will post some of what they offer with the prices rates per day:

Canon 5Dc = $26.5
Canon 40D + grip = $26.5
Canon 16-35L = $26.5
Canon 24-70L = $26.5
Canon 70-200 2.8L IS = $26.5
Canon 50mm 1.8 = $13.25
Canon 300 2.8L IS = $135
Nikon flash SB-900 = $13.25

As i said, the prices above are per day, and they offer discount if someone will rent for 1 week or 2 or 1 month, now with those prices, what i can ask for what is similar and what is not there?
