Let me see what you can do with this pic : RAW File (external link)

Yous must use only a raw converter (LR, DPP, DXO, etc.) or plugins but you can not use an external program such as photoshop, gimp, etc.

Does it? In what way?

Just so ya know, I'm on an inexpensive uncalibrated monitor right now, so if something looks off let me know:)!

it's a little to much cyan on my screen. But may be it's my screen that is not well calibrated...

Rules? Allowed to crop?

BTW isn't LR a bit more than a RAW converter? I am asking, I don't own it, so i am willing to be wrong, but I thought it was a CS functional subset.

Same with DXO but, but it has the lens corrections?

not sure either but i think the intent is to NOT use a pixel moving app like PhotoShop or Gimp.

I think I understand the intent, but doesn't LR have add ins and actions?

I tend to keep my greens from oversaturating and such, so mine aren't as bright and cheerful as some of the others:)!

Lightroom is built around the Camera Raw processor used by Photoshop -- not a subset but technically a "plug-in". The processing done by Camera Raw is totally separate from anything done in Photoshop -- for an image to open up in the PS editor from Camera Raw it has to be converted into a different format, from the "raw data".

So, Camera Raw/Lightroom are "true" Raw converters. In fact, another way of looking at it is from the Lightroom perspective -- Photoshop is to Lightroom a "plug-in", an external editor that returns a converted tiff/psd/jpeg, not a Raw file.

But they have made great strides in Raw "developing", things that a few years ago we only "dreamed" about, local adjustment brushes being a "huge" step forward in the move to LR2 from LR1.

Ah, thank you. (off to do homework)

Ok, got it. LR has a workflow better than bridge. The develop module is Camera Raw but you have a brush tool.

Are you saying Camera Raw doesn't have the local adjustment brush? What version of ACR are you using? I was under the impression that they share the same tool...the Brush is up in the same toolbar as the Crop Tool, the Clone/Heal Tool, the RedEye Tool, and the Gradient Tool...??
