Will arrive tomorrow. I hope it will be at least as good to me as my 40D has! Can't wait!

Sigh...with two kids in college it will be a while before I get mine. I envy you. Enjoy.

I also went from a 40D to a 7D. Still haven't had much of a chance to play with the 7D yet, but it's a lot more camera than the 40D. You'll love it! Don't be put off by the autofocus system though. It's complex, but you'll get the hang of it.

You'll love it! Great improvement from the 40D.

Maybe I'm just slower than some but I'm finding the 7D to be slightly overwhelming. I'm ordinarily the last person to turn to a book but this book, David Busch's Canon EOS 7D Guide (external link) is helping to fill in some of the blanks. I got the Kindle edition for only about $14.

Replacing my Canon 7D, Tokina 12-24mm, Canon 17-55mm, Sigma 30mm f/1.4, 85mm f/1.4, and 150-500mm with a Panasonic Lumix FZ1000. I still have the 17-55 and the 30 available for sale.

Yeah, the 7D is a lot of camera. Took me by surprise too, but I'm getting a handle on it. Keep at it!

Hi, You will love your 7D. I had a 40D too but I love my 7D now. Don't let all the naysayers get to you as I'm convinced most of them don't know how to make the machine work. Remember, it's all about having fun. Keep on shootin' Mike

I went from the 40D to the 7D, it's a good change. You'll enjoy it.

Welcome to the 7D club. It's a fantastic camera and if you learn how to use it properly then it will give you some superb photos.

Thanks for all the information everyone! I have been eyeballing it for some time. Finally pulled the trigger yesterday. I look forward to figuring it all out and posting. Thank you again!

After trying one and having a 40D I found that the 40D produce sharper images out of camera then the 7D.

....Not a chance. I have a 7D , friend has a 40D....I had a T1i.

The auto focus is the most chatted about thing about this camera....have any of you actually tried the autofocus center point on your current canon camera???....There's not a whole lot different to the "d's Ti's and the 7D...just more points to choose from. Love my 7D.

search Micheal the maven on you tube for helpful setups on your 7D...or any of the Canon's.

Canon S100 and Canon 7D, Canon 28-300L 3.5/5.6 IS, Canon 70-200L 2.8 non IS, Canon 10-22 I'll give it a lil "l", Canon 50 1.8, LEE 10X Filter, Benro Travel Angel A-169....REI back pack, hiking boots and a photogenic black labrador
