Reviews suggest its great for video, but when it comes to photography, it is only good for still life photography due to manual focus.

Once upon a time, there was no auto-focus, lol.

The lens always gets high praise around POTN. I'm sure some folks will be jumping on this.

In all seriousness, make sure you get the canon one, since the first one that showed up for me at least was for Nikon cameras

No AF with a 5d (no live view and crappy lcd) makes this unusable for me as I shoot mostly kids on the move, but great deal for people who can use it.

I'm excited, especially after I got it after 97% had been claimed.

I had actually been looking at this lens for several months now. The MF doesn't bother me since I shoot exclusively with old lenses.

Managed to jump on it also....keeping my fingers crossed. I dont mind MF that much - really enjoyed my friends SMC Takumar.
