Looking at the NAPP discount benefits and the link on their site that takes you to the corporate partner version of the MacMall site, and it looks like their discounted prices more expensive than the generic customer accessing the Mac Mall. Does anyone know if this is common, or just likely a mistake of the site's being out of sync? I'm looking for a MacPro 15 2.2Ghz i7 with 750GB disk.
Here's the regular customer access to the site "blowouts": http://www.macmall.com …cNavLinks-macNavLinks.222 (external link)

And here's where you go through the NAPP link: http://corp.cc-inc.com …4d4de4c8fbd9729dcf8dbe6b6 (external link)

Has it been anyone else's experience that you can get a better deal NOT using their NAPP discount?

As a heads up, there are strong rumors that a new MacBook Pro will be released in the next 2 to 3 months and it may include a Retina display. Are you sure you don't want to wait?

Another heads up, there is ALWAYS another new _________ on the way, if you are in the market to buy to fill a need today, buy today. If you can make due till tomorrow, by tomorrows offerings.

Personally, I buy the refurb's from applestore.com - the lower left corner is the link to them. Otherwise you may also want to look into teacher / student discount if you're in school.

Thanks, but don't need more resolution since I don't edit on the laptop. I contacted NAPP about it and they're looking into the discrepancy. Since the display is one of the biggest power users of a laptop's components, wonder what twice the resolution will do to battery life.

You've given some very, very good advice that one should always live by. Just wanted to point out the possibility of a retina display coming to the MacBook Pro. If it does, the resolution will be unreal. Once these types of displays become mainstream in a few years, no one will want to use anything that even resembles what today's displays look like. (They are that good.)

NAPP is the National Association of Photoshop Professionals. Started out as a training and support site and morphed into a lot more.

I bought a 13" Macbook Air for my wife at Christmas and went through B&H. Like you, I have a NAPP membership and tried the cheapest route through their discounts. I chose to go through B&H because it was the lowest price and I was able to get AppleCare for 50% off making it only $95. Plus no tax and free shipping, it was a no brainer.

I believe this is the model you were after at MacMall:
