Has anybody used one of these? If so, do you recommend it?

I have used one for several months now and find it works very well.

There are a lot less expensive ways to do this... but the few times I have used my friends, it has helped get the setting tac on.

Here's an independant review.

Seems to be quite a few other reviews out there. Definitely cheaper to use a grey card for white balance setting but the expodisc seems to avoid possible inconsistencies.

I have one and they work pretty well as advertised. I bought it in a moment of weakness. I agree there are certainly alot more cost effective methods of attaining your custom white balance.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

Thanks to everybody for your comments and to nation for the link. They are kind of pricey though.

I have one and I use it all the time - it sits on my walk-around-lens as lens cap. I've used it for custom white balancing and to take incident light readings and it works great for both of these. Yes, it's expensive but I haven't regretted spending the money. It's also more durable than a grey card. Although I don't own one, you may want to look at a WhiBal as an alernative.
