My main body (at this time, but it's on CL) is a 7d, but the above image was taken with my XSI. I will say it's easier with the 7d's FPS though..

no I know for sure, I do plenty of dodging and burning on the places photomatix just destroys.

oohbekay - you are right, photomatix tends to destroy highlights but why dodge and burn? Go back to one of your orginal exposures, layer the the hdr over the top and mask through those areas

can do that for sure! but ive done that and it doesnt blend well enough with the rest of the photo. all depends how drastic it gets. IMO.

Very little dodging/burning in that one. I usually tend to add adjusted layers or maybe part of the originals as littlepiggykids just said & I use masks.

I [personally] find that way better, easier & with more control than dodge/burn.

Recent trip to Singapore for a day. Bummed about the weather but living in Bali I get to hit the big city once every three months or so. Fingers crossed for the next trip.
