Don't set the strength slider high...that is the biggest culprit for Halos.

As someone above said - it's about adjusting the sliders - I haven't read anything much about technique with Photomatix. I suppose there are tutorials out there .... Dave. Yeas - I think we sometimes get up with all the other "stuff". As an aside, had just picked up a book today written by someone in the film days, and who was very much into creativity in photography, back in the film days.
