Haven't posted in a while, so I thought I'd share some pictures I took during 2011 showshoeing around the local mountains here. C&C welcome. Full set here: http://www.millionflame.com …/Parks/2/Snowshoeing2011/ (external link)

1) High above the clouds overlooking the Lower Mainland. 3-stop soft GND to help exposure. Used Lightroom to process the RAWs first, then Auto Pano Giga to stitch, then final processing in PS CS5.

2) Had to do A LOT of clean-up to get this right. Hand-held exposure blends.

3) Same as #2. Lots of clean-up and hand-held exposure blend.

4) Exposure blended panorama.

5) Large sink-hole frozen over. Exposure blend, hand held.

6) Looking behind me from the frozen sink-hole. Same deal with processing.

7) Sink-hole again from another angle.

8) Another hole in the snow, but I don't think this is a sink-hole. Single exposure from Lightroom.

Those are great, I like #2 the best. What was your work flow on that one?

I made this animated GIF to show all the layer work I did. It's large so it will take a while to load, but it shows the transitions.

Basically, I blended exposures together and then I did some content-aware fill/clone-tool clean-up on the image.

After that I used hue-saturation layers to remove a lot of flares, and then levels adjustments on those areas.

Just left it at a cooler white balance. I liked it that way, but I also liked it with a warmer white balance too. Just showed the cooler version.

Thanks.

Beautiful set. I love backcountry scenes, but on snowshoes is more work than I'm willing to endure. Thanks for posting them.
