Tomorrow I will be the "proud?" owner of a Droid 3. Is this a good or bad thing?

Does it do the wash? THAT would be a good thing.

Pea, did you have a smart phone before or will this be your first?

I recently went from an iPhone to a Droid, there was a bit of a learning curve and things my iphone did much more intuitively. but in the end they serve the same function and get the job done.

Nope, never had a smart phone... just dumb ones. ;) No really, all I've ever had is a phone that makes calls and I can text on. So this will be interesting for me.

We have several people at work who use the Droid 3 and are very happy with it.

The iPhone night sky app is one of my favorites too. If you're into outdoor photography and want to know sun angles, Sun Seeker is a neat app. The lite version is free, but it does require GPS.

Good to know! I'm glad I will have a couple days off over the weekend as I'm sure it will take awhile for me to learn how to use the dumb (smart) thing.

HA!!! if it could feed the dogs I would be overjoyed! The wash isn't something I worry about much.

POTN via phone is not real special. Maybe the next version will be more phone friendly.

I've never used an antivirus program on my Droid devices, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt. I have heard of viruses that are aimed for the things. I've just never seen one, myself. Either they're not very common or I'm just lucky. Or, both.

I have never had much success with all the masking programmes out there, whilst the adverts and the YouTube vids all make things look really easy and straightforward, I have always found, in practice, that things were not so good with transparency and hair giving a host of problems.

Well, I have just been playing with Topaz Labs ReMask (external link) and I think I have found one that does exactly what it says on the tin.

this was literally a couple of minutes work.

Looks good, Neil especially around the wisps of hair.

ZANE when you visit today...we have a freeze warning for tonight and I don't have enough cover for everything. I thinking the iris will be OK as they have their heads out of the ground all winter any way. But I do think I need to cover the peonies, lilies, especially the hybrid lilies, creeping phlox, and sedum.

What about the mums? They are hardy for fall frost but what about spring? And the hosta that are still curled? I also planted 2 burning bushes a couple weeks ago that are in fresh leaf, I noticed one looked like it got nipped last week as a few leaves looked soggy withered wet. I'm thinking they should be covered as well even though they have very namby limbs right now.

Let me know our thoughts/recommendations, please.:D

Star Walk, is a fabulous app. Shows live locations of stars, planets, satellites. You just point your phone in the direction you want to look at, and it will show it all with names.

I have one called Star Chart for my droid that does all this stuff. I played with it a bunch at first, but have not looked at it in months. Same can be said for a lot of apps though.

Hey, I got my extremely technically challenged wife using one. You can do it too. ;)

Very true. Many other sites I go to are set up to use smart phones, and work quite nicely.

I haven't used one either. Actually never even thought about it. I have never heard of anyone having a problem before either. Maybe I am just being naive. :)

no need for an anti-virus software for phones, yet.

You do hear of some viruses now and then, but they are very few and far between.
