But wait, I have yet to be paid for March as our company is outta money. Hoping a receivable comes in soon!

Chet wrote in post #14215628 (external link)

I'm still getting paid. I think that not getting paid for March makes you the winner of this loser contest. :-(

November is crazy, we get the 6th, 12th, 22 and 23rd!

What about the 11th, Remembrance day is the only one we get off, and that employees get paid for.

In the UK people get Good Friday and Easter Monday off..not so much here :(

Some people get Easter Monday off here too, it is just not required. Mostly government and banks.

What do you do when you need to pull your hair out, and you have none left?

Harm wrote in post #14215502 (external link)
put an apron on and call yourself Jim?

Hey, I'll have you know my hair was not pulled out, it either just fell out or I shaved it off.

For some reason though, some of it seems to be getting sucked in, and now comes out through my ears. :p

Chet wrote in post #14215505 (external link)
And if Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years or any other days fall on the weekends we don't get any extra days off.

Wow, does that ever seem wrong. Are there not labour laws there?

Chet wrote in post #14215512 (external link)
Can I still call myself Chet? Kinda fond of the moniker.

And why not Jim? huh? If you can use a pseudonym like Chet, why would Jim not work as well? :p

Chet wrote in post #14215526 (external link)
Walmart people work holidays, and we all know power plants don't shut down for holidays either.

So yes it's legal even though I'm a salary boy.

But, like Lonnie mentioned, they must get paid overtime, no? Like I said before, here they either get the pay for a holiday day, plus overtime for the time worked, if they work on the actual holiday.

Mind you, my boss never pays me any overtime, though he is really good about time off with pay whenever I need it. ;)

Right, so this year the Holidays fell on the weekends. So he has no obligation to pay us for it. Some companies have a list of observed holidays, we get.

Labor Day, 4th of July, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Day, and New Years Eve and Day.

Is the day falls on a weekend, we don't get "extra" days.

I have never had much success with all the masking programmes out there, whilst the adverts and the YouTube vids all make things look really easy and straightforward, I have always found, in practice, that things were not so good with transparency and hair giving a host of problems.

Well, I have just been playing with Topaz Labs ReMask (external link) and I think I have found one that does exactly what it says on the tin.

this was literally a couple of minutes work.

Looks really good, the PP work too.

Looks good, Neil especially around the wisps of hair.

ZANE when you visit today...we have a freeze warning for tonight and I don't have enough cover for everything. I thinking the iris will be OK as they have their heads out of the ground all winter any way. But I do think I need to cover the peonies, lilies, especially the hybrid lilies, creeping phlox, and sedum.

What about the mums? They are hardy for fall frost but what about spring? And the hosta that are still curled? I also planted 2 burning bushes a couple weeks ago that are in fresh leaf, I noticed one looked like it got nipped last week as a few leaves looked soggy withered wet. I'm thinking they should be covered as well even though they have very namby limbs right now.

Let me know our thoughts/recommendations, please.:D

I generally don't cover stuff. You may get some leaf burn but probably won't lose anything. It is survival of the fittest here. The new burning bush are probably most at risk.

That is quite the coincidence, the 11th is on a Sunday here in Canada too. Kewl. :p

So Boss Jim's going to revel that he doesn't have to pay Employee Jim to not work on Sunday, 11/11 since Employee Jim doesn't work on Sundays?

I covered as much as I had covers for and made sure the burning bushes are covered. Not so much new as transplanted from a neighbor's so they aren't greenhouse spoiled. The hostas still in curl are not covered, those in full leaf are. We'll see how everything fares.
