AND!!! for anyone following my experience with this "smart" phone... I is getting smarter at using it.

:D

NATHAN you're getting better all the time. I'm glad you're sharing and playing.

CHET I miss dying eggs. Curt never liked it so it is no longer done. Found memories of when I was a kid though. My dad loved the tradition as much as we kids did.

We were never allowed to participate in the egg dyeing as kids. It might make a mess.

The Cuteness factor is almost overwhelming!!! So nice to see them all getting along, do Peepers and Punkin cuddle by themselves?

Robbie has been feeling his oats lately (he will be 1 on May 5th) and when he sees Tspin snuggled with me or in a spot he liked he goes up and bites him really hard until T runs away :(

He also hopped up on the table and took one of those little peet moss type seed starter clumps of wet muddy mess and ran around the house with it at full speed to keep from getting caught...lovely.

Yeah the kitties snuggle together but I know what you mean about the little ones getting uppity. Punkin will attack Peeps a bit too hard at times and he yells. I intervene so Pee knows I have his back.

Lol on the terror kitty.

Yes, when Punkin jumps up on the bed Zoë starts to thump her tail lol. She always looks at us while playing with her like "I love my kitty SOOOO much, thank you!"

We did egg dying as a kid but I haven't with my monkeys. I just forget until it's too late to do them.

But, we did have an easter egg hunt for them and their friends today.

Today's picture entry for the challenge has a Chief type culinary tale behind it.

Tomorrow's Easter dinner which will include all of Curt's family plus, is at my BIL's mother's, I'm taking the salad. My first thought was a Barley Salad recipe one of my SIL's introduced to us a last summer. Then remembering Curt is really the only family member that likes to go beyond traditional fare, I figured I better take a green salad as well.

The other morning it struck me to make a layered salad. This morning I went looking for the dressing layer and Google turned up one of the Chief's favorite sources, The Pioneer Women. So I looked through her layers, and except for the type of lettuce were similar to my thinking but I hadn't thought of the bacon. Pork fat rules, you know. I proceeded to make my grocery list, yada, yada.

So this afternoon, I'm working at putting together both salads so the flavors can get friendly with each other overnight. The layer salad is looking beautiful, I'm ready for the dressing layer.. Having the foresight to keep the PW's recipe on my Nook I went to check out the measurements for the dressing layer....GASP!!!!:shock: I FORGOT THE BACON!!! and the pea layer is suppose to be the last because the dressing spreads easier over the peas then any other layer.

So I cut up the bacon and start frying it. Then I begin to dismantle/transfer the salad from one bowl to another, one layer at a time. Well of course pieces of the other layers stick to what I'm trying to transfer/separate. But I'm determined to have my layers with bacon and pea on top...make that the peas on top.;) I succeed, thank goodness you toss everything before serving, but I present you with my not so beautiful, mixed up layered salad...

as for the Barley Salad, it is pretty, I think with all the colors and tastes so divine. It is such a refreshing light tasting salad. Plus it has feta cheese in it so how can it go wrong?

Looks delicious, Becky.

I was busy cutting grass today, but I did manage this shot of a Gravenstein apple blossom against a moss covered trunk. This is one of the last trees from an orchard that was planted in WWII.

Very nice, Tim. Love the history. How is the tree's production as old as it is?

If I prune it correctly, I get about 1 bushel of apples from this particular tree. 12 years ago we had 6 trees, but now there are only 3 left.

Before the grapes took over, this area was known for it's apples. There are still a few apple growers in the Sebastopol area, but the rest of the area is pretty much all vineyards now.
