If I prune it correctly, I get about 1 bushel of apples from this particular tree. 12 years ago we had 6 trees, but now there are only 3 left.

Before the grapes took over, this area was known for it's apples. There are still a few apple growers in the Sebastopol area, but the rest of the area is pretty much all vineyards now.

Nice bit of history in the 3 remaining. Prune on.

Today's picture entry for the challenge has a Chief type culinary tale behind it.

OMG!!!! Those both look soooo good. Now I'm hungry for one of those and have not 1 ingredient. Would you mind sharing your recipe for them both, Becky?

1 medium tomato, cored and cut into eighths

1 T. Parsley

2 TBSP Olive Oil

Red Wine Vinegar to taste

Feta Cheese to taste

In a large bowl, toss together, cucumber, bell pepper, tomato, parsley, oil and vinegar and feta; season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve at room temperature.

DAN love the colors in your shot especially the fire red glow at the bottom.

I only have a handful of photos on the walls....and nothing recent.

What I really like about the photo I shared last night and what doesn't really show so well at web size, was the setting sun shining off the underside of the tree branches. At full size, it looks pretty cool.

I went and saw some beautiful interaction between kids, adults, and kids and adults.

The girl reaching for the bars in image 4992 has gorgeous long hands and fingers, get her a piano.;)

Do Nkechi's parents home school? Is that a chalk board, the eraser looking marks would make a cool backdrop and you could change it up. Also we could have used the kids at our style show fund raiser last week, the theme was "All About Hats".

They don't home school, BUT the entire ground floor 'family room' is their place to play and learn. Nkechi goes to some special pre-k that she actually TESTED into (don't get me started) and they do all sorts of serious schoolwork at the ripe age of 4. She reads and is starting math!! So they painted the chalk board on part of the wall, have a 'reading nook' specially painted and designed and have all sorts of posters and stuff for the walls. She is precocious, no doubt; Chike's just along for the ride ;) He is the happiest little kid, he had fever and was teething during the whole party and he never complained.

They went straight for the dress up corner after we wore them down at the park, where there are tons of hats that they all played with most of the time.
