Being self employed, I got out of it easily. Just said the business needs me, and it kinda does.

That has always been my excuse, and usually there's no problem. I did get into a heated argument with a judge in San Jose one time who chose to give me a stern lecture about doing my civic duty. I asked the judge if he would please be my witness if I ever got sued because I was not in my office supervising the activities of the 75 real estate agents who worked for me. He wouldn't excuse me, but one of the attorneys used a preemptive challenge to let me go as it was clear my attitude was going to be pretty s**tty.

By the way, that was a product liability case involving a vacuum cleaner, and they thought it could last a week, not counting deliberation time, I kid you not. What a waste of everyone's time.:mad::mad:

My mother was selected for one of the longest and most expensive cases in UK history. There were 4 defendants (two of them were barristers) and the case revolved around a huge corporate fraud involving several off shore shell companies. The case lasted 4 months and according to my mother she did not have a clue what was going one. One of her fellow jurors was fines £100 for falling asleep.

The jury reached their verdicts solely on the summing up of the judge.

ya i don't think i would mind jury duty. my bills would kinda suck but thankfully i don't have too many at the moment but the fact that i could potentially have to cancel my flights and hotels and my vacation that happens 2 weeks after my summons is what is pissing me off.

something tells me the universe doesn't want me to have a vacation.

Neil....

We were thinking of you last night. We finally watched the Margaret Thatcher movie, and thoroughly enjoyed seeing so many familiar landmarks. The movie itself was depressing.

Amazing that something like that would draw so heavily on the from tax money to actually put through court.

PAULA, just thought I would share a screen shot a part of my 'Edit Contact' screen from editing an individuals contact. I am going to assume it looks different than yours. I just click on Ringtones and get a scad of different options.

I am afraid that she was rather depressing.

Just wait till "Phoney Blair" or "Gordon Spendaholic Brown" the movies come out...

We need someone with some charisma and character to them, to be Prime Minister!

I know with my Samsung phone, I had to go to their site to get a full manual. I think most manufacturers do that now.

BTW, Lisa gets to listen to a chorus of kids singing "You Are My Sunshine" when I phone her. I think that is a default setting whenever a phone sees my name. ;)

True about the manuals, cost savings to the manufacturers.

Yeah, OK, on the default setting.:lol:

iphone is easy. you can do it all through itunes to create the ringtunes....same thing with blackberries.....i'm talking like the old nokia's and things like that. ones that actually required you to go in an modify files on the phone to allow the phone to recognize the custom ringtune....
