I'm with JJ on this one. Open is much nicer for large gatherings.

I agree that open is nice for large groups, but my sister's house has nowhere that isn't open. Even when the kids were upstairs playing you could hear every word they said. Our house is open too, but there's a door to the basement which cuts off a lot of noise. I like open that can be closed off. Like have the kitchen and dining room fully open to each other, but have to turn a corner to get to the living room, unless you open another door between the kitchen and living room.

I don't like crowds, especially the mess of talk that goes with them. Add a little alcohol in and the volume just climbs.

The way I've seen people dressed lately, seems like folks are wearing their PJs all the time.

Yes. Pyjama day was the day when everyone (if they wished) went to school in their jammies. No body showed up naked. There were a lot of long johns worn, and most people had slippers on. Good excuse to not break out the hair gel either. At least one guy would walk around in boxers...

The dress code at my high school only said that students had to wear shoes at all times. Technically, a student could go around naked as long as he had shoes on his feet, and he'd be in compliance with the dress code. I never saw anyone test that, though...

Hey Tim!!

I was (sorta') in your neck of the woods on Saturday. At about 3:00 in the afternoon, wifey announced she wanted to go see American Canyon. She'd heard is was a booming place. So, we drove from San Mateo to American Canyon, looked around, ate supper in a Hawaiian barbecue restaurant somewhere in Napa, then drove back to our hotel in San Mateo. I will grant you, the weather was quite lovely on Saturday (and presumably Sunday, too).

I was somewhat unimpressed with American Canyon. Lots of big houses on small lots. Not my cup o' tea.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

I always wanted to test the no shoes, no shirt, no service. I would show up in shoes and a shirt and demand service.

It probably would depend on what kind of establishment it was...
