Gotta watch those giant pies... ;-)a

Only got one bit of shopping done last week for one person. I checked out all the ads in the newspapers and online, but didn't see anything I needed or wanted to get someone else on sale. Seems like many of these so called Black Friday "sales" are pretty much the same deals they offer during sales at other times of the year.

Everyone got all their shopping done? Mine was easy... Friends picked up all the seasons of Big Bang Theory for me. :D

I did the only Christmas shopping I'm going to do about three or four months ago.

Hmmm.... Should I be getting her something, too? :o

But, then the cats will each want something. I'm not made of money!

Killed by a pie.

Oh yea.. The pie put me over the top.

No xmas shopping for the JJ clan this year. I have finally made some progress and convinced most all of my family members that unless they are willing to make one of my mortgage payments, I need nothing. They got the point I think. For my kids, I am doing that as well. I'm taking care of one of their bills up to a certain limit giving them a little peace of mind. My two older sons are getting their internet and cable covered for 3 months, my daughter is getting part of her credit card paid down, and my youngest who is still in school is getting one epic party complete with libation. All my other family members, sisters, BIL, MIL, cousins and all I have been very clear with, we just moved and would greatly appreciate it if nothing was given and expect the same in kind. We are not shopping this year at all.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

Good move JJ, once we all started having kids we took all of the adults out of the equation. No one over 18 gets gifts, all the kids get something and all the kids have to shop for and donate as well, it makes things easier on everyone and cuts down on the buying.

I haven't exchanged gifts with anyone for several years now, but I did get a couple small things for my friend in Northern California. She lets me stay in the guest bedroom of her house any time I want, which for the past few years has always included the week leading up to Christmas, so I figure the least I could do is give her something in return...

Hi Pea :) Doing anything today? We will go to a family disfunction at my parents place for a bit.

We just had the neighbors over again and deep fried a turkey. Got quite happy drinking Apple Pie (external link) and then laid around in misery after eating.

We aren't doing any Christmas shopping either this year. Husband already bought his present yesterday. Not sure what I'm getting yet and the kids all get gift cards with money on them to spend as they wish. Just easier to send that sort of thing and they can either pay bills or buy something they want.

Hey! You can save money by just giving Minnie a nice ride in the car with the window open so she can hang out the window and slobber all over your car. All dogs love to do that!

Well, she is gonna get that! A nice 450 mile drive to our friend's house in Northern California. Not only does Minnie get a long car ride, but she also has a big backyard to romp around in for the week we're there. She loves it!

We're having a blah fall day - cloudy and damp with the temps right on freezing. Makes a person want to stay in bed all day.
