My friend Loryn was showing off her hair & makeup design at an art show last week. I showed up a little bit early to get some portraits of her models. All are with the 430EXII in my homemade beauty dish, with some fill from by the pop-up flash and a reflector. I really could have benefited from a second off-camera flash for a hair or rim light, but I wanted to travel pretty light - so I just popped the beauty dish on my tripod and that was that.
C&C is appreciated, especially with the skin corrections. This was my first time using cameron rad's "perfect lie" technique for cleaning up skin imperfections.

2. This one was tough; I just couldn't get the lights to look good; the hair blocked the face and eyes too much. Did a pretty fair amount of exposure correction in post but I'm still not absolutely happy with it. In retrospect, I probably should have just moved the BD to be closer to the lens axis.

3. My favorite of the set. Note, she had white powder on her face so it looks a little hot. This model has gooorrrgeouuss hair, silky blonde and about three feet long, I hope to work with her in the future.

4. A little hot here, but I wanted to show off the contrast of the white and black as well as her fantastic eyes.
