LR3 RAW+L won't find jpg's

The search function doesn't work well with my phone, so my apologies if this has been asked before.

I usually shoot only RAW, but yesterday decided to shoot RAW+L. When importing into LR3, the cr2 files are showing up, but I don't see the jpg's. If I browse to the card on my computer, I can see that they are there, right beside the cr2's. I don't have a separate card reader, so I haven't tried that, and I will try copying the card to the hdd when I get home, later today. But, even if that works, shouldn't LR see them when importing from the camera directly? Any ideas? Did I change a setting somewhere, making importing jpg's a mortal sin for LR?

Start Lightroom and go to Edit > Preferences > General tab.

Select the option to "Treat JPEG files next to raw files as separate photos" then click the OK button.
