Not my best work, but this was a fun project. I went out to shoot an image of a solitary tree and create some desktop backgrounds. I think the images depend too much on the post for their appeal, but what the heck... it's a desktop background. Might be worthwhile to reshoot some of these once I get a 10-stop. And I'm sure there's more that could be done with that fence about 10 minutes after sunset. #3's my favorite of the group.

They all look good.

Something I would keep in mind when shooting for desktop backgrounds is that icons are on the left, so when composing keep your subject on the right and try and keep the left as much in negative space as you can so that those icons maintain separation and are easier to find and don't get lost in the details of a busy background.

If its not possible, or practical to compose a shot with the subject on the right, just invert it later in post.
