Hi. I am in Seoul, Korea and shopping for a 1 Gig CF Card. I have come up with these brands from various sellers.

1. Sandisc
2. Info.ez
3. Jaba (by Samsung??)

anyone heard of these? Can anyone recommend brand names to buy, or brands names to avoid??

Thanks for your time.

I got PQI brand.. I'm sure there's many no name brand flash cards comming out of China.

I know Sandisk. Or if it's spelt Sandisc then it would be a ripoff brand.

If you buy a CF card you better watch at a good quality brand.

Sandisk is one of the best CF cards in the world so you can't go wrong.

Sandisc is unkown to me and the other brands you mention to.

Good luck.

Sandisk is an excellent well known brand.

The other two are probably local brands, so wouldn't really know how good they are.

There are many good brands that you will find by doing an online search.

Try doing a search about on the net to find out whom the card is made by, there are an endless list of names/brands on these cards but there aren't really that many companies that make them. Some of the cheap cards about come out of the leading factories, some of the expensive big brand name cards come out of lower end factories lol.

Sandisk, Kingston, Ridata (ritek I think makes those) and Lexar are the most trusted brand names. I'm waiting on a no name cheapie card atm to test out, a little research and I find it's made by one of the worlds leading memory manufactours.

Try this link.

http://www.sandisk.com …eme_III_CompactFlash.aspx (external link)

I use 1G Extreme 3 in my G6. Very fast compared to my older 512 and 256 Mg Sandisk from the previous generations.

That’s because only SanDisk Extreme III memory cards feature innovative ESP Technology for the fastest speeds and highest performance. ESP stands for “Enhanced Super-Parallel Processing”. Simply put, it means you are getting the fastest read/write speeds available – an amazing minimum 20MB per second** sequential read and write speed – speed you’ll definitely appreciate whenever you find yourself shooting and storing pictures in harsh environments, extreme temperatures or at high altitudes.

Every SanDisk Extreme III CompactFlash card comes with RescuePRO® so you can recover images, documents, mail, video, music –

Good luck .

Richard

cousi, does that G6 take advantage of the faster Extreme speeds. Many cameras can not keep up with the speed of the cards. Not knocking the Extreme III because it is one heck of a card. I personally know it doesn't benefit my 10D and doubt that the 20D can benefit enough to be worth the extra cost over the Ultra II. Course, the original poster didn't say what camera he is using, or even if he is considering normal speed or high speed cards.

In all honesty i havent bothered with the Sandisk mental speed cards as i dont think it really makes a huge difference to the Inov8 cards ive been using for years.

Ive found these cards give a great speed and great price and i got mine here http://www.digiprintuk.com (external link)
