Welcome to the forum. There are too many pictures for individual comments, but you certainly have an interesting perspective on the world.

Re watermarks, some think they are distracting, but it's your choice.

I like how you seek a DIFFERENT view. Hate watermarks.

Welcome to the forums. Nothing wrong with these shots. I like the railway trestle, although the slight tilt in it seems to stand out. As mentioned, some really have an issue with watermarks. If possible, try to keep them in an area of the pic that doesn't detract from the main subject(s). If that is not possible, accept that some will remark, but try not to worry about it.

Shame some have to be jerks when you're trying to learn. Nothing wrong with them and they have a differnt view of things. The bridge could be really nice. May try to fix the horizon as it appears to be leaning.

Yes, I did notice that as well. I didnt check my level before taking the picture :o

I am trying to learn more about White Balance. I would love to learn how to get higher color into the pictures as well. I cant quite figure out how to do it though. Most of my pictures turn out dull and plain compared to other pictures I see. I will Edit that Train bridge photo and Center it :)

Edit: Here is the rotated picture

None of them are anything special, with exception to the fixed rail road shot. I really like that one. I'd say to work on your compositions more, but I'm guessing someone said that in another forum which is why you think they're a jerk, right?

actually no, they were just telling me that all of my photos were crap and I should find another hobby.

I appreciate what you said though, at least its positive criticism

Edit:

so when your saying work on my composition, you are basically saying that I need to make it more obvious what I'm trying to Capture in the photograph right ?

Sorry to hear that about how you were treated on that other board. I will say that this forum has been very helpful to me in learning this hobby. I agree that your railroad pic is a nice one. As for working on your compositions try to take a moment and look at the scene and decide what it is about it that grabs you and then try to capture that. You have already started to use different angles and point of view.

I usually try to take a few pictures of each scene i am trying to capture all from different angels, or positions. This will help you to figure out what style you like and what works best for you. Remember it is digital, so fire away and then you can see what worked and what didn't when you are reviewing them on your computer.

very good information Dustin, thank you. I will try what you said and take multiple shots.

Is there a way to get more color into a photo? My photos don't really have much color it seems. Or is that just the lens I am using? Its a Sigma 70-300mm

I like the bridge shot, and the snow covered benches as well.

As ar as getting more color into your photos, all I can say is choose more colorful subjects. You could increase the saturation, but I don't think these images would benefit.

Welcome to the forums.

I like them.. I find the most challenging thing in landscape photography is actually finding appropriate/interesting/colorful locations to shoot..

Maybe you could look into getting a wider lens? 70mm on a crop is pretty limiting.. Once you get as little as 10-15 mm it opens up a whole range of opportunities

Ps.. Also have a look at Lightroom 3.. It's great for landscapes... Photoshop is awsome for portraits but takes a lot of practice.. In Lightroom you can change vibrance, contrast, saturation, white balance etc all with a click of the button
