I hate to interrupt the flow of the thread, but...

How in the Hell do you get a shot like that? Seriously? I spend 2 hours sitting outside waiting for a bluejay or cardinal that never comes. I have to know some story behind this shot. Were you on a boat or land, how far away, do you have eagles living in your backyard? This is one incredible shot, and I'm not jealous or envious, I'd just love a chance to even see something so cool, even if I didn't have my camera.

There is a very unique place along the Mississippi River in Iowa just north of the quad cities. All you need to do is come out on a cold winter day between Jan. 7 and Feb. 15 or thereabouts (don't come in December and don't wait until late Feb.) and you will see an amazing sight, with the exception of this past winter of 2012 when it was too warm and the river didn't freeze over.

If I remember correctly, this shot was around Feb. 11, 2011 in the late afternoon. It is important to have full sun and winds out of the west or southwest and once the sun gets lower in the sky it will light up the eagles as they come down to fish and give you this amazing color in the water and perfect lighting on these birds.

I never "see" these kind of shots. I need to exchange my eyes for some creative ones.
