Depends on what else you have.

Taking photos with a fancy camera does not make me a photographer.

I don't know how much you can miss body-wise.. both cameras are like driving a tank ;)

Don't you think you're going to miss the 85 for portraits though?

Straight trade? Unless your body or lens is pretty beat up, you might wanna ask for a little cash. Either way, you'll love the 5Dc. Check out the 5Dc thread for some examples. Not mine, but other people here have posted some great examples of what the camera is capable of.

Maybe your right about the trade. My body is mint with only 34,000 on the odo. The 85 is also mint. I have been on the 5d thread alot and there are some great examples of what this body can do.

I'd request some cash as well then if yours is in mint condition.

I'd say it's about even based on ebay values. If the 5D is in good shape and you want the full format, then go for it!

For over two years I had a 1Dmk2 and a 5Dc. The 1Dmk2 was quickly relegated to backup duty, and very rarely used. I finally sold it, and have never wished to have it back.

The pixels in the 1Dmk2 and the 5Dc are exactly the same size (8.2 microns), it's just that with the 5Dc you're getting so many more of them. So, given the same field of view, IQ is significantly superior with the 5Dc. At least that was my experience.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".
