Milky Way rising over the Rangitikei Hut, Kaimanawa Ranges.

The foreground is lit by starlight there was a lot of fog, and this was the clearest night we had out of 5 nights in the bush.

I really wish I had a place near me with less light pollution I have to drive several hours just to get away from any large light sources.

Thank you that last one is literally 30 mins drive from my home in Auckland we're quite lucky down here in wee NZ.

Love using this lens at ƒ1.4! Such a cool effect for a wide angle
Need an AF-C chip though as focusing is a bit tricky

^Do you have a EG-S screen in your 6D yet? If not, I highly recommend picking one up, made a huge difference for me, I shoot completely manual lenses with my 6D and rarely have an issue.

If anyone is interested, I have done some test shots with this lens, these are at the wider end of the aperture
NOTE: The lens was focussed while at ƒ3.4, at 1.4 the focus gets thrown out a bit, so you can actually get tighter stars at ƒ1.4

It's well worth the $35 (not sure what they cost in NZ) and they only take a minute to install. Even with my f/4 lenses I can usually frame up with it just fine, and with f/1.4 lenses it's worth it's weight in gold IMO.

When you write 10 and 25 shots, are you serially shooting 25 frames and then combining them (with which software)? If so, what are the shooting parameters of each shot? Do you use a tripod and press the shutter for each shot or use some intervalometer software?

Yup I shoot a series of shots from a tripod, shoot one, adjust composition, shoot again etc etc. edit in LR then export full res jpegs, then stitch them in photoshop no intervalometer used, just the iPhone remote.

OK, thanks. One additional question is if you use say 25 shots at exposures of 1 second or at 10 seconds?
