Rough Legged Hawk

With the Mission Mountains as a backdrop the RL Hawk is flying over the Valley. Lots of voles and mice to eat this year so the wintering hawk population is amazing.

Very nice shot of a bird in its environment, a reminder we sometimes get too carried away with portraiture.
