Cano 60D wireless flash trigger

Hello guys. I recently got my Canon 60D and I like how it has a wireless flash trigger. there are two things I would like to know about the wireless flash capability of this camera.

1. Anyone tried to use it outdoors and the maximum range?
2. If I am using the off-camera flash on manual mode (slave mode) and connected PW II to be triggered by another camera, would the 60D be able to trigger it as well using the IR?
