Another one from my trip to Costa Rica. Any suggestions on better post-processing?

The greens are almost neon to me and I dont personally like them that bright, but maybe thats just personal taste. I also have a sneaking feeling there could be some more detail hiding in the highlights of the water that you havent brought out yet...Id play with the contrast in the highlights a bit more to see what you can find. If you have CS5, have a play in Image>Adjustments>Shadow/Highlights.

I might also play with a different crop. My eye would like to see maybe 1/5th or less of the top trimmed off, I would like to see a wider aspect ratio for some reason - this might also help my eyes not care about the blowing branch on the right as much if it were stuffed up into a corner.

But, overall - its a nice shot, just providing my processing critique since you asked for it.

MNUplander.... great suggestion. I saw that in the picture but didn't know exactly how to pull that detail out. Check out my edits below. I could pull out some more detail in the flowing water of the stream but the waterfall I had no luck. What do you think of the new version?

I think you're on the right track, but here's my take on it:

-toned down the greens
-crop
-brought out some highlight detail
-cloned out that blowing tree

Its only a 5 second edit on a very small file so far from perfect, but it gives you an idea of what I was after.

I like your edits UPLander. The one thing though is that the color of the greens is actually the color we were seeing. I asked the people that were there with me and they said it was right on as well. I know, hard to believe huh? I like to get my shots to as close to what I saw no matter how they look! Thanks again for the edits! I'm gonna have to work on it!
