President onboard: Air Force - AF1, Marine - VM1, Navy - VV1, Army - RR1, Coast Guard - C1, Guard - G1, Commercial - EXEC1, Family memeber regardless of Branch of Service - EXEC1F.

VP onboard: Air Force - AF2, Marine - VM2, Navy - VV2, Army - RR2, Coast Guard - C2, Guard - G2, Commercial - EXEC2, Family memeber regardless of Branch of Service - EXEC2F.

Transporting plane - P or VP: SAM 28000 or 29000.

Trivia Question: Does AF1 have more takeoffs then landings? If yes, how could that have happened?

Andy

It's still in the air.

Got a camera, some cheap glass, one nice glass, a PC which doubles as my darkroom and a lot to learn - and having fun learning.
Taking a picture is like planting a memory, it grows more beautiful with time.

Ford was sworn in while Nixon was on board. Took off as AF1, landed as SAM 27000

Awesome shots Jay! You never cease to amaze! :D

If possible, can you please comment on "what was wrong" with your Plan A shoot position, and "what was acceptable" with your Plan B position. (Too close to the airfield? Too close to the runway centerline? Something else?) USAF 1 flies through my area on occasion but I've always been too paranoid about attempting photography -- afraid of getting arrested, or worse.... Are the restrictions published somewhere? Thanks!

Plan A was too close and too much under the approach path.

Plan B was not as close but still pretty much under the approach path.

Basically, the local LEOs said "Go where we can't see you and you'll be fine" so I guess the field we found was out of sight.
