Venus and Crescent Moon Tonight

A very attractive conjunction in a rare UK January clear sky this evening. Folks in US will get this view in the next few hours. All shots on 5DII.

24-105 at 45mm:

And for fun, most of the sky including Jupiter just below the centre, taken at 14mm with the 8-15L. Star images with this new lens are very impressive, right out to the edges:

I was looking forward to getting a shot of this, I heard on the radio that venus would be very close to "inside" the crescent moon last night in the western sky... unfortunately it was overcast and I couldn't see anything. Tonight I got a couple but they were not as close together as in your shots here, then the clouds came again... damn michigan!

Thanks for sharing, I really hoped someone would post a shot since I missed out.
