Currently stuck on a painting mission in a monestary in Carelia, north europe. Plenty of snow and -20C degrees. Short days, but I never imagined the evenings could be so beatiful. I knew the window of opportunity was short and when the daylight started to dim I went out buying tea from the monestary cafe while waiting. You've got half an hour before it is pitch dark. While waiting, one really nice munk came towards me wondering what I was doing outside in this temparture, speaking english with a heavy russian accent, but he was very friendly. Then I told him how facinated I was by the bluish twilight. He agreed while pointing out some other motives as well. He left quickly and I got my pictures. If you don't move, you tend to freeze whatever clothes you put on, but this was worth it
Info: f8, 100ASA, exposure about 10secs, camera 1D mkIV, lens 24-105mm, tripod, no P&P on the original, Photoshop oilpainting filter on the altered version.
