I miss you too BIll!
That is a really nice shot there . It could stand just a smidgen more brightness tho .
Thanks Celestron! Seems like I wrestle with this in every photo.

The result needed a lot of sharpening back in LR. The good thing was that they took to sharpening pretty well. Since then I have used the Merge to 32-bit HDR plugin for LR and am much happier with the results. Charles...what is that plugin? Paul

I did take it back to LR but didn't do any sharpening there - will have another go sometime. Olympus M1 MkII, Olympus M5 MkIII: Lenses covering 8 - 300mm

I just try for the least HDR-esque look I can get. I've probably asked this Paul, but what software do you use for merging? Olympus M1 MkII, Olympus M5 MkIII: Lenses covering 8 - 300mm

kirkt Cream of the Crop More info | Nov 02, 2014 22:42 | #1161 Shot handheld - 7 exposures at ISO 1600, f/5.6 - at the Hope Lodge: http://www.ushistory.org/hope/ Whitemarsh re-enactment. This house is an incredibly well-preserved example of a well-to-do 18th century family, located outside of Philadelphia. Here is a short video about the house and history of the estate: http://www.ushistory.org/hope/more/wmv.htm I shot this wide and had to hold the camera low and manually change the shutter speed without the camera changing position too much. Happy accident on the framing and composition. Merged and tonemapped in Photomatix. Finished in PS CC. kirk Kirk

Actually I do like it myself, but I love the clarity in yours and other people's shots. I mostly use Photomatix Pro. It's a pretty powerful program with a lot of flexibility, and I don't use half of its capabilities. You can make your shots look as HDR-esque as anyone would want. Or, you can make them look pretty natural. I always export the HDRs as a tiff file then take them back to LR for finishing. Paul

roseyposey Cream of the Crop More info | Possibly not the best subject - this evening at Haumoana. Didn't have tripod so "faux HDR" in LR, exported via plugin to Photomatix, and back to LR. Slight finishing PSE11. As soon as puppy old enough will be able to do "proper" HDR Olympus M1 MkII, Olympus M5 MkIII: Lenses covering 8 - 300mm
