The clouds look a bit pushed to me, but a much better effort! C Scott IV wrote in post #17270755 Rose, it looks like you are figuring this out. Very much improved! I agree with Jon about the clouds. That one spot is blown out. I bet you can clone a similar area of clouds and use it there. Maybe blend it using less opacity. Just a thought. Thanks - yes I see the spots in the clouds - hadn't noticed that before. Will have another try at it sometime. Exporting directly to Photomatix from LR seems to make a big difference somehow. Exporting directly to Photomatix from LR seems to make a big difference somehow. The blown out spot doesn't bother me so much. What I was commenting is the overprocessing of the clouds. Take a look at the photo posted by JJD below yours. Very natural clouds and therefore much more natural looking photo. Natural skies are tough out of programs like photomatix. Better to process your photo through it and get the foreground the way you want then blend that output back with the best fitting sky exposure. roseyposey Cream of the Crop More info | Another attempt: the clouds are still very dramatic, but that is how they were on the day. Often get very vivid skies over there at Clive, and that was why I took the photos in the first place. Olympus M1 MkII, Olympus M5 MkIII: Lenses covering 8 - 300mm
