Thanks Jon. Do you HDR a lot of your landscapes too? I found thru trial and error that if I want any shadow recovery at all it is a must.

I just see the little bar at the top of the page turn purple. then i look to see whats going on.

Jon, is this thread marked as followed? If not, look for the selection above the page numbers at the upper right of the top post on any thread page. If it is followed, that should be indicated to the upper left.

Once followed, be sure that the check box to notify is ticked.

Works for me.

Most of what I shoot and process is beyond my camera's sensor range and therefore by definition HDR. That said, I manually blend my photo's in PS, which is what gives me the natural look that I'm going for. I almost never use third party programs which often apply some amount of tone mapping.

I KNOW those rocks. I shot a picture of them and the lighthouse in the background 35 years ago.

Couldn't compare to yours, though.

It is indeed a nice architectural glass pattern design and installation. The building is a natural history museum: http://museumatpf.org/ . Sadly, as interesting as the architecture might be, the reviews are quite scathing for it as a museum.

I captured the image just as the sun was going down and the western light really lit up the glass nicely. Oddly enough, this west-facing facade is actually the backside of the building! Here is another fuller view of the museum (also a 7-exposure HDR processed in Photomatix). The sun had sunk below the horizon in this one, so it is only reflecting the last vestiges of day glow out west:

I think you should contact them and see if they want to use your picture on their website. It looks way better than the photo they have! Such a cool building.

Thanks! Yes, the Museum's web site has horrible photography. The architect probably had some professional shots made - they look much better: http://www.vernerjohns​on.com …projects/Prairi​efire.html The one thing I was able to get in my shots was the low western sun illuminating the colorful glass panels. They were more colorful in that setting than the mid-day light in the architect's photos.
