Some more shots from a dual a week ago tonight. Have another match tomorrow to shoot in our gym which is a dungeon. But at least I'll get to use 2 flashes.

Let me know what you think of these. The lighting in this gym was really nice and adding another OCF really paid dividends for me here.

Again all shot with a 1d classic, sigma 70-200 2.8, 580 EX and 420 ex ocf. IS was 400 and ss was 1/250th.

Scott

Being a wrestler myself, I love these pictures. Unfortunately I am also biased in that respect :P
Awesome shots though. I know how tough it is to shoot! I would love to see what you could do with take downs, especially for high school. Those are the shots I wish people took of me when I wrestle. Nothing better than lifting a guy with a nice double leg. Also a good thud when you hit the mat :)

Yeah, at this level, there are not too many take downs like that. When I do see one, I do my best to nail it. But this age group they tie up a lot.

Lots of ankle picks and duck unders and single legs.

The thud is nice, especially when everyone gasps and goes oooohhhhhhhh.

The younger kids tend to grapple more than anything. Which isn't always easy to shoot. Definitely a good job at it here!

I actually get to take shots of my kid now that he's in college with the competition talent level being higher. When he was a jr and sr in high school he usually pinned his opponent in under a minute so the pics I did get were at a premium.

My favorite quote heard from his now deceased head coach screamed out after a match went over a minute. "Knock off the clowning around and pin him". That was during parent night when he wanted to be out there a little longer for mom and dad.

You really do have some nice pics Canons900

My sister, the professional baker and cake decorator once told me that my camera takes great pics. My reply was that I thought her oven baked great cakes.

I like these a lot. The lighting is great and the pictures are crisp. I have been experimenting with a similar lighting setup but have not seemed to master it yet as you have! Keep up the good work
