All right after many years I'm getting a chance to take a vacation abroad and trying to choose between 3-4 lenses to take. As you can see I have quite a few to choose from so I've created different groups. Dont know whats best if there are low light needs. Dont have a fast wide angle like the 24mm f/1.4. Help me decide.

Group 1, Classic Primes
35L, 85L II, 135L

Group 2, Flexible Zooms @ f/2.8
16-35L II, 24-70L, 70-200 f/2.8L IS II

Group 3, Combo Group - Flexible
16-35L II, 50L, 70-200L f/2.8L IS II

Group 4, Lighter smaller long zoom and one extra prime
16-35L II, 35L, 50L, 70-300L f/4.0-5.6

Any other combo suggestion welcome? Want to fit it in a Think Tank Retrospective 20 bag or a Lowepro Nova 190

Group 2 but I would take a 24-105 instead of a 24-70. The 24-105 has wider range as a single walkaround/travel lens and it has IS.

You do need a wide angle, you will appreciate it in such places as Bario Gothica, or if you take a short trip to Girona (a must see in my view), just 30 min train ride. You will need a typical mid-range. You will hardly feel a need for a telephoto, unless you like to shoot architectural details.
I was on vacation in Barcelona twice. A beautiful place, you will enjoy it. But don't miss great places around it, such as Montserrat, Taragona, Sitges, and an amazing Salvator Dali museum in Figueros (sp?), all under an hour train ride.

Group 3! 50mm for your standard shots, 16-35 for architecture, and 70-200 just for kicks, eh? ;)

They're all good choices, I suppose I'd go with #2.

Be sure to visit the del Museu Picasso de Barcelona, it's very good.

Are you well insured? Barcelona is known for its pickpockets, and there good. Cost me my wallet and PS camera.

Other than that; i would leave the big, white, heavy telezooms at home. I'd take the 16-35 and the 50.

Out of what you have to pick from I'd take 16-35 and 35. 16-35 for general daytime walk-around. The 35 for the night.

Agree, to some degree, there are probably thiefs that could pickpocket a 1.5kg large lens, but not many,if kept the right way. But i would be carefull flashing it around to much. Have them in a good shoulderbag and never, never set it down, keep it on your person at all time.:-)

16-35L + 70-300L, then either the 24-70L or 35L + 50L depending on how comfortable you are in the standard range.

I wouldn't even bother with a long lens for Barca. 16-35L + 50L - all set. Light, small, powerful. It's not like you're going to the jungle to need the reach. The 16-35 would be on your body 95% of the time ...

Well, if people don't think its worth taking a telephoto zoom then maybe I should consider

16-35L, 50L, 24-105L or

16-35L, 50L, 85L and 135L (and 1.4x)
