I was at a wedding (as a guest) recently where they had casino tables. Was awesome fun and got everyone chatting.

Won some, lost some. We all got x amount of chips at the start and those with the most chips at the end won prizes!

hows the Maserati?

felt_tip_felon wrote in post #14296795 (external link)
Have fun in the Maserati JD, Looks like a beautiful machine!

Thanks chaps. It's a great car and a real looker - the Grancabrio. We are taking it to Amsterdam tomorrow for a couple of days along with a Ducati Multistrada which we've roped our plumber in to ride. Should be good fun :)

LOL - as I type this, Cindy has just pulled in to the drive on her way back from Sainsburys - 2 bags full of cat food filled the boot!

ah!!! help!

Just moved an old IDE drive from a caddy to my home server, wanted to add it to the server as is but I pressed add and then I saw the word format come on the screen and quickly pressed the reset button as format was the wrong option. Now on boot up the drive in win explorer is there but when u click on it, it says its not formatted and do I want to format it. Have I just lost all the data?

What happens if you put it back in the caddy ?

When I used to have Photoshop, I used to use selective noise reduction (selected the background and left the subject alone). I used to hate the look of the plasticy look.

In other cases, I used an edge detection selection, feathered it by a few pixels and ran noise reduction on the inverse of the selection. This prevented the fine detail from being smeared out.

This probably isn't relevant to LR use, but it's just how I did things.

Thanks for the insight. Always good to know different techniques.

I remember your edge sharpening tutorial Pete - that was really useful.

Ha... This sharpening tutorial became a big part of my workflow for a long time! A belated thank you from me Pete.

The jump in NR from LR2 to LR3 was quite amazing I seem to remember. It's hard to see how much better LR4 could make it but I'm looking forward to finding out :)

Confirms what I have been fearing - an upgrade from LR2 to LR4 is a good move!
