Did anyone else go? If so - did you see the MacMillan guy and gal on stilts? Trying to break the world record too of a marathon in under 8.5 hours!

Got to sat wow......not that I have done one but doing a marathon must be tough enough without wearing a really hot outfit.

Re your friend I am happy if I look like that after half a mile

That photo looks seriosly dodgy in respect of where their hands are and the lady has her eyes shut;)

Can't believe the cheek of Adobe, their new Creative Cloud is $49 in the US and £47 here. Can that even be allowed?!

That shouldn't surprise Adobe are one of the worst for it

damn I really wanted some sunglasses too ;)

Nice photos everyone. Bit warm to be dressed up running, fair play to them.

You cannot beat an opening! Ribbons and big scissors!

I can't believe some of the outfits people were wearing. There was a guy who was carrying what looked like a pylon or mini eiffel tower type structure as well as many other crazy costumes. The photo of Pete was at 6 miles ... I didn't take a photo of him at 22 miles as he was looking decidely worse for wear at that point.

nice pics Clare. I was there too but havent had a chance to look at my pics yet. Was a great day :D

I was really overwhelmed by the support that was given to all the runners. As soon as anyone spotted someone who was flagging, they'd shout encouragement - especially if they had names on their shirts. It was such a great atmosphere. If I go again and I am not supporting anyone in particular, I would choose one spot and stay there - to get the best view and the best photos. As it was, we had planned to try and spot Pete in 3 places, and only managed two after battling with all the road closures / station closures / hidious numbers of people! It made me realise that I would be crazy to try and get into London during the Olympics ...

I really wish I had made the effort to go see the marathon yesterday, that said the sheer numbers of people and general bedlam that accompany such events put me off somewhat... but I have to say it's a very inspiring thing that people do, I know several folks who ran yesterday and I know the effort they've put in to do it - kudos to them and their excellent fundraising :D

I think you may be right about the Olympics though - gonna be bonkers in the City for sure! :(

Hence why I've taken five weeks off work :) The marathon is a pain enough but all those Olympic lanes, no thanks!

Looking forward to the Olympics....

I think I will have to part drive and cycle the last couple of miles, I reckon traffic and parking are going to be a nightmare and leave is extremely restricted.

Edit: The motorway signs are already telling people to plan their journeys for the Olympics

I'm glad I work outside of the M25 - though I fear any impact will potentially be felt this far :(

in other news, I am now the proud recipient of LR4 and I am very much looking forward to having a play on it - though when I don't know, as I appear to be on DIY duty for the foreseeable future

also I scribbled a picketing Dragon, as to present an unbiased perspective on St. Georges Day :D

Lee - both your St George's Day scribbles are fab - the dragon one a perfect balance to the original.

I'd definitely go see the marathon again - I can't yet run for more than about 2.5 miles ... so in awe of all these people - even those who walked it! As for the Olympics - it's a minimum of 2 weeks working from home for me (plus another 1.5 weeks for Paraolympics) ... reckon the house and garden will be painted and spruced by the end of that!! Hahaha.

Another idea would be to move out temporarily and rent out your house/flat as an Olympic residence ...!!
