Don't forget to discuss the weather on a regular basis and when entering a taxi you must ask if he has been busy?! Lol..

Nice set of bugs Linda, I took some pics of a Red-Tailed Bumblebee a few weeks ago with lots of red parasites attached to the poor thing, I wonder if they were the same sort of thing as your parasitic fly, I hope not..

Thanks. I dont think that what you saw are the eggs of my fly, because many bees do suffer from mites, some mites are worse than others. I would have to do a google to bring myself up to speed again with the ins and outs of these mites but I know some are very damaging, and possibly fatal, to bees.

I'm supposed to buy a holiday, well I've been meaning to go and buy it the past two months but keep forgetting, I think it's probably all sold out by now. The wife wants to go to Croatia.

I think a bit of a road trip to Scotland will be on the cards too

Can definitely recommend croatia and if you need to spend a lot of time you can do the north and the South, we spent two weeks in Ravinj which was really nice. Would recommend a hire car to get around though.

Yes, Zenfolio is good. I also used to use photobox but Zen is much better by far (and it should be as Photobox was free and Zen isn't). Here's my Zen site: http://www.sales.mikegreenphotography.co.uk/gallery (external link)

Yes...never really heard it called that but I know the place, we used to bum around there as kids.

Mike sorry another question, are you limited to selling prints or can you include canvases etc.. That link if very handy. Smugmug give too much choice, they offer everything Loxely do in every size you can think of. Almost thinking of reducing it so it does not look overwhelming for the client.

Morning folks. Had a lovely St. Georges day yesterday as I received my permanent leave to remain in the post. I'm now officially difficult to remove from the country!

Commence daily mail fueled rants about immigration

I thought they had shut the doors after they let me in!!

Another wedding question

How much profit do you make per print, do you go on a set mark up or percentage?

I am looking at setting the pricing at a reasonable level and go for a bit more volume. I have seen some photographers seem to charge a mint and puts people of buying.

I do the images on DVD to the couple.. I was thinking of making up a photo booth then sell those prints on the likes of Photobox or Zenfolio in 6x4 at £2 each or something and maybe a digital file to for £5-10?!

Matt

Thanks, a photobooth looks interesting. When I have been looking at other photographers websites and what they offer they all charge extra for one, if you charge for the prints as well definitely looks like a win win situation!!

to be honest I cant be bothered with the hassle of getting prints done as well to make a few more pounds, also ive found with the couples ive talked to so far they have all said they would rather pick and print there own when they want too and dont like the whole photographer package thing so thats the way im heading, just do an online gallery and then give them all the prints on disk..

If you go to the vendor list of products, yes they list canvases plus other things.

Hrmm...I think I may have already been British. Think I can ask for a refund??

I was actually surprised at how easy it was to be honest.

1. Entry country legally on work visa
2. Work 5 years
3. Pay money and get permanent leave to remain

I think it's step 1 that trips up most people (according to all credible news papers anyway) :)

I Just give one price for the Wedding and the client can do what they want with the prints unless they specifically ask for prints to be done. I also create a DVD with the images and a visual gallery on Blueray which goes down well.

Only time I really sell prints are with Motorsport/Automotive and Landscape work.
