As you say a great set of images. Looking closely though he says "taken in the back garden" I think he must have rig to attract and there is well defined catchlight in the eyes of the birds which IMO says he used flash and as the BG seems quite well exposed a slow sync operation to boot. So very well crafted technique to get such wonderfull pictures. Now where to buy a 'better beamer' flash modifier ;)

Note ~ seeing the limited EXIF data shown with a focal length of 80mm and 110mm and 120mm makes me wonder if he has a remote control rig with movement sensor trigger(s) I cannot quite see him getting that clse as he mentions full frame by using a hide???

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

No idea how he's taken them Laurence, they're great though aren't they! I was surprised how slow the shutter speeds are.

Like the business cards Matt but i would introduce a bit of colour.

He uses high speed flash and laser or IR triggers, there is another chap called Dale Sutton who uses HSF as well he's on 500px and well worth looking up.

So, what's all this with 500px and what makes it better than any other photo repository site? Everyone seems to be using it these days.

I like it, but definitely would like to see a version done up to match your site.

/agree!

Also, you don't get the flood of mediocre rubbish where people just dump their memory cards online ala flickr. People tend to be choosy and post only their best stuff, and the modding system works really well to keep only the best, NEW images at the top of the charts.

The popular section (external link) is worth at least a daily review.

Ah, I see.

So it's the place that the cool people post their best shots until all the uncool people start jumping on the bandwagon and posting their mediocrity, by which point another (even cooler) photo sharing site will have started up?
