For a 7D I think the 17-55 is the choice - the 24-105 is a great lens on a FF but you are missing another 10 once you apply the crop factor - the f2.8 on the 17-55 is also a big advantage IMHO

Maybe cus im always taking pics of my 3yr old. Wondering if the 24-70f2.8 would be more a fit for me. Don't want anything with a smaller aperature than 2.8. What I got: 7D, 17-55f2.8is, 70-200f2.8isMKii, 430exII, 430exII, S100

Sounds like a full frame camera and your 70-200/4 would work best for you. On your 7D, 55 to 70 doesn't give much. On full frame the DOF of F4 would be like a 2.8 on crop (2.5 actually) so its not like you are giving much up there. Also, The 24-105 kit lens would cover longer there to equivalent of 88mm to actual 105mm Canon 7D/350D, Σ17-50/2.8 OS, 18-55IS, 24-105/4 L IS, Σ30/1.4 EX, 50/1.8, C50/1.4, 55-250IS, 60/2.8, 70-200/4 L IS, 85/1.8, 100/2.8 IS L, 135/2 L 580EX II, 430EX II * 2, 270EX II.

I have the 24-105L on my 60D and it is a fine lens. AF is fast, accurate and you can't beat that. The image quality is sharp, with excellent contrast and color rendition.
