Okay..so here is my problem:

I own the flipside 300 and flipside 400 aw. Normally as a day back I'd use the flipside 300 and I'm fine with the hot shoe slightly bulging out the back with my 60D gripped w/ 70-200 (i honestly didn't feel anything). Now that I own a 5d2 gripped as well I find that flipside 300 and my flipside 400 aw doesn't work for these bodies in one backpack...

what I'm looking for is a backpack to accommodate both bodies gripped and a back access with a sternum strap type backpack. I'm paranoid and rather not have anyone grabbing my bag. been on the search for bout 4 days now and really frustrated at this. been from a messenger bag to handbags back to backpacks..I just prefer backpacks.

5d2 gripped dimensions bout 7" height x 5 1/2" wide x 4" deep with all my accessories on it.

I'm actively lazy!! :D | Gear List | photovxn.com (under construction)external link

Have you looked at the Lowe Pro Primus Minimus, you can fit the 5dm2 in the main compartment and the 60d in the top compartment or vice versa

I swapped from a flipside 300 and use an insert in the top compartment for other lenses. I find it less bulky than the filipside because you make it smaller by using the compression straps, it's a more technical pack with more adjustments available in the harness system

5dm2 gripped in the main compartment (bottom)

5dm2 gripped in the top compartment

very thick padding on back and well padded waist strap to take the load, so you don't feel the eqiupment sticking into you, it also has the fully adjustable sternum strap that slides up and down the shoulder pads for that optimum fit

I use it as a transport and every day bag but I wanted something smaller and less obtrusive, the minimus looks more like a normal backpack unlike the flipside range, a lot of other camera back packs are too boxy

The minimus is the smallest backpack in the Lowepro recycled range

The minimus has a slotted compartment on the front which you can fit an tablet or a netbook but it's not sealed, it normally meant for jackets etc.
Also depending on what your carrying you could also fit it in the top compartment.

Note the adjustable tripod loop

got mine from Amazon, HKBNS on ebay is a reputable seller but the ones from China would be copies
Just saw on the bhphoto and adorama sites that the Primus range has been discontinued which is a pity

you might want to also consider the Kata Bumblebee PL 220 or UL 222 or the Crumpler Karachi Outpost and the Vanguard Uprise 45

I use the Tamrac Evolution 9 to carry two 7D 's gripped with lenses attached. In the lower main compartment I carry one 7D gripped with the 70-200 f/2.8 L IS II attached with hood reversed.
In the upper compartment which is designed for other accessories, I carry the other 7D gripped with a 17-55 f/2.8 IS or other lenses below with hood reversed. The top main compartment is padded like the rest of the bag. I have contacted Tamrac about this style of bag with two compartments for cameras. Have top compartment like bottom compartment for two camera use.

Canon 5D Mark III (x2), BG-E11 Grips, Canon Lenses 16-35 f/4 L IS, 17-40 f/4 L, 24-70 f/4 L IS, 70-200 f/2.8 L IS II, 70-200 f/4 L IS, 70-200 f/4 L IS Version II, 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 L IS Version II, TS-E 24 f/3.5 L II, 100 f/2.8 L Macro IS, 10-22 f3.5-4.5, 17-55 f/2.8 L IS, 85 f/1.8, Canon 1.4 Extender III, 5 Canon 600 EX-RT, 2 Canon ST-E3 Transmitters, Canon PRO-300 Printer

Crumpler Karachi Outpost

Vanguard Uprise 43 (not the Uprise 45 but the features are the same)

ok I checked out these bags on my downtime. I love the Kata design but hate the fact it opens from the bottom (reverse type opening style). Crumpler Karachi Outpost I read was pretty heavy without any gear loaded (search on the forums), and Vanguard Up-rise 43 - love the way it looks hate the sling. Good thing it has brothers/sisters that are backpack type (still currently looking into the Vanguard up-rise 46 right now).

love the space in the bag, but again dislike the bottom opening compartment. maybe I'm just awkward and can't adapt to it without feeling awkward of how the bag opens itself.

Thanks though everyone, I think will research more into the vanguard up-rise 48. sounds like a winner. ..or without the laptop compartment. LOL
