Not your normal view of a classic plane.

Shrink wrapped B-29 waiting for new pavilion to be built. The plane is about 95% restored and sealed to protect it from the weather. Sitting outside the Seattle Museum of Flight.

Interesting find! I would have liked to have seen how they did that!

Probably "Spraylat" which is the same material they use at the "Bone Yard" in Tucson...

It's a weee bit off from 95% complete. I had the honor helping with a unique photo project just before they wrapped it up. It still needs a LOT of work on the wings and the engine nacelles. Fuse and interior are in great shape though! Sadly, any money that was meant to house it was spent building the house for the Space Shuttle that isn't coming. It will sit outside without any work being done on it for a LONG time. Long time.

I wondered about a spray, but the way the material covers the high points behind the props in #3 makes it look like it's been stretched over them?

That's too bad, they probably need to update their signage then. Hopefully they are able to continue working on it sooner than later as it will be a great addition to the Museum.

I understand the shuttle Trainer will be started to transport in sometime in March, using the Guppy. 5 flights total, hope to catch some of them.

This is great! I wish I knew about it when I was in Seattle a few months ago.

Yeah, the signage is a bit optimistic, but it is their ultimate goal. Sadly, there is no desire to make it airworthy again. Although it's a perfect candidate!

And yes, March will be a very busy month for spotters trying to catch the Guppy. I'm already working my contacts to get access to a very special location.

Did they get short-changed by losing the old Boeing plant building to the wrecking ball?

Yeah, I remember that location you had from the Blue Angels last year. Let me know if you could use anyone to carry your bags, run for your coffee,...:)

Yeah, they got kicked out of old Plant 2 so they can clean up the river for the indians or some bs like that...Now, the hangar they moved to on the east side of the runway is being torn down so a modern hangar can replace it with the hopes of attracting paying tenants.

I sure hope they didn't seal in any salt spray, etc.
