Currently, there are quite a few "Unite, Discuss, etc." threads that take up the front page of the EOS section (and more always show up when new models are released). These threads are bumped dozens of times per day, which causes people's genuine questions to be quickly kicked to the second and third page without being answered (or insufficiently answered). What I proposed a long time ago, and am still seeking, is a sub-forum where these threads can go. Almost identical to the Lens sample photo archive (which has been very successful). This way, the actual questions will be answered, and the section will become much cleaner and easier to get helpful responses.

EDIT: Just an update...

As of 9:38pm Pacific Standard Time (October 7th, 2013), there are 16 threads out of a total of 30 (not including stickies) that are "Unite,Discuss, share pics, etc" threads. 12 of the first 15 slots are filled up with these threads, with many of them being on their second (or iii,iv,v) versions.

There are too many choices out there..
People have to boost their confidence about the one they made, that's why we have so many 'join' and 'unite' topics.

I am not sure whether that's good or bad, but that's the way it works, I guess..

What we see depends mainly on what we look for.

Thank you for the additional thread. Please see search functions and use appropriately.

On another note, this internet is huge. I can't find what I want. Help?

Stickies don't work... If everyone read the Sticky: -=FAQ=- EOS FAQ -=READ FIRST=- about half of the posts in the EOS body forum would disappear :)

Same goes for the -Sticky =FAQ=- EF LENS FAQ -READ FIRST- Before asking "What Lens?" over in the lens forum.

If everyone used the 'search' function, the post count would probably drop by another half... :)

And if everyone just used the library and RTFM, the internet wouldn't need to exist.

I find Googles Advanced Search function to be vastly superior to forum search functions. You can even seach on a specfic phrase or exclude words......imagine that.

I did not mean a sticky in the sense you put it, but as in the "sticky"(maybe thats not the right word) that is the Lens Sample Photo Archive. That one does work. If there was a Camera body archive (maybe not word for word but something like that) then I think it would greatly clear up the threads..

Also, I wasn't talking about looking for my question answered. I was talking about looking for other peoples questions that they might have. I always use the search function first before posting a question. If I don't find the exact answer I was looking for, then I will post a thread.

I got nailed on that by other members the first time I ever posted.

Well, why not create and maintain a thread with links to a representative "unite" thread for each model. If it becomes useful, it may be "stickied".

That would not solve the problem of being too many threads around the actual question, it would just link to them.

Do you think that one per body is too many?

At the time of me originally posting this thread, there were 10 "unite, etc" threads active on the first page. 9 of those were on the first half. What I am asking, is why can't those threads be placed into a "sticky"(used for lack of a better word) that is like the Lens Sample Photo Archive? It would clear up the threads so that peoples questions are easier to see.

If the lens sample photo archive did not exist, you would have the same problem that there is now with camera bodies.

So yes, I think that there are too many to allow people to have the best chance of having their questions answered.
