I heard the adorama store is nothing like BH. But there online service is amazing!!!

No absolutely nothing  B&H is a MEGA store. Adorama is like 1/10th the size of B&H but it is nonetheless a great store!

What body is that? With a 70-200 F4?

I saw a photographer today at the Open, he had what I'm guessing is a 5D II and 24-70, then a 7D with a 70-200 2.8 and a 2x. Both bodies gripped... it was just weird seeing a guy running around with that with media credentials at a big golf tourney, when just about all the other photos are running around with 300+mm primes.

Yeah it's such a small long lens... It's actually ugly haha. I have no clue what body though, it had a grip on it though but I didn't get a good look and trust me I tried seeing what body it was.

Oh I mean I'm sure the AF will be the same as the T3i, but it's getting my lenses to actually focus properly. With my T3i my 35 is FF (maybe?) and I have no MA so I can't adjust it to the body. The 85 could also possibly be front focusing but the weird thing is when I'm at home and focus on something it focuses perfectly...

But I'm going to try and wait :p I don't have enough money anyways and I'm hoping they announce the 5DIII in hopes of prices dropping on the 5DII.

#1 reason why I would go adorama over B&H is cause of their customer service ;)

That's true... coming from the T3i it may not be as big of a drop.

Nah, I'm not expecting lightning fast AF. To me that isn't even a big deal. It's more so just focusing perfectly on my subject.

I also kind of want to dip into video this year and learn final cut pro.. otherwise if I go with focusing I'm going for the 1DsMKII.

Ah, well the 5D II is going to be great for video. :)

I'd like to start building up a video rig for my 7D.

Ok, not ugly, but funny is what I mean... Actually on a big gripped body it just looks plain ridiculous

Stores usually get an allocation of units for preorders, Especially with certain collectors editions

I remember when Mass Effect 2 came out the N7 collectors edition allocation ran out MONTHS before release, Our store was only allocated about 25 units or so....

Collectors editions usually work something like the publisher will mint off a first run of them, then allocate them to the various retailers, So Gamestop might get x number, Best Buy gets y, Amazon gets z, etc

Gamestop will then take and look at store performance for preorders and such, and allocate the copies accordingly, if it looks like they'll need more, they usually contact the publisher and say "Demand is higher, looks like we're going to need more copies" and the publisher will either 1. make a second run based on demand, or 2. Say there will be no more, and to remove the item from the preorder list... This is how you can "sell out" before it even is released...

Usually a publisher like EA is generous and ships a few extra units in case if one gets damaged or something, Most stores get 1-2 extra collectors editions as a "just in case" thing.... Of course sometimes Publishers SUCK and SHORT you... (Happened with Fable III's CE)

In this case, I looked at Best Buy, Gamestop and Amazon, and all three were showing NO, All three also offer preorder bonus items and Amazon and Best Buy were giving away between $10-$20 in gift cards for a preorder, and Gamestop is offering 30% extra trade credit (40% with a Power Up Rewards Pro membership) Giving them the best deals

Buy.com, Newegg.com and Walmart.com are NOT giving any form of preorder bonus item or incentive, Which is why they probubly still have their preorder allocations.. OR they did not get ANY allocation and they're just preselling and figure "if we dont have enough, Tough ****"

I nabbed one at Walmart.com and have it set to be shipped to my house, I may or MAY NOT see if my least busy local store has any of the allocation left for me to preorder anyways...

Normal editions you RARELY need to worry about, because they are produced en masse and are restocked FAST, the collectors editions however are rarely ever reprinted after the first run and rarely restocked after the release day

I never did get the point of those collectors editions which you had to shell out extra for before release. I haven't finished ME1 yet, let alone started ME2 (which I paid $5 for more than 6 months ago).
