Basically, this. http://www.bhphotovideo.com …stDetail&Q=&li=4650037829 (external link)

All good choices. Except that last one. It has the word "Vivitar" in it.

Yeah, you really have to stop down to 5.6 to get the most out of the 400 DO. Then again you're shooting that 70-200 @ 400mm 5.6 anyhow.

For a man who's ready to preorder a $4000 5d3, you should be able to afford a similarly priced lens :D You're like the buyer who spends more on his hubcaps than his car :D

I really stop down to f8-9.

I see what your saying but for some reason I find it more reasonable to buy this camera then the lens. If I could get a 400 2.8 or 500 4 for the same price as the DO then I would be all over it!

So expensive. It would make sense if they made a lot and marked the pricing down along with the regular games at years end. But people actually pay full price and they're always gone fast >.>

I could check on ebay 2 years later and buy that same collectors set for 1/4 the price :D

Then its used though...

and you dont get the special bonus content....

Oh, nice dude!

I know you will love the 50 1.4. The 17-40's alright. If you get around and wind up doing a lot of wide angle stuff you will love the 17-40 then.

Yeah... We'll see how it goes. I figure if doesn't work out, I can write a review worthy of my experience with it. I get back a couple days before the 30-day period is up, so worst case, I'll end up returning it.

The 400 2.8 is 11 pounds. Are you man enough to lug that around? Even at 9 pounds, the 500 4 isn't really handholdable once you throw on a 1d2, and a 580ex w/BB.

Why remove the anti-aliasing (AA) filter in the Nikon D800E?

I've yet to find special bonus content I couldn't get later, for free (GOTY editions). I was all over getting the first release of dragon age because it had the Karn Golem content that wouldn't be provided later--but guess what, I was able to buy the GOTY edition a year later with it all in there for less than half what I originally paid.

Same thing with Arkham City and the exclusive costumes content--in a year when the GOTY comes out, it'll all be in there anyhow...

Oh I'm man enough:cool:

I would need to slap a 2X TC on the 300 anyways so I mine as well get a longer lens. And the weight does not bother me at all I'm on a tripod at all times;)

What's a BB?

Better Beamer, IE Flash-xtender

You'd have to be nuts to keep a 2x slapped on a 300 2.8. IQ takes a major hit, and the AF takes a dump. Tracking with a 2x attached (the 70-200 II included) is not fun.
