Because, I think the 645 effective focal length is like half of 35mm.

So on a FF 645 back the 80 is like 40mm I think, and then at 1.5, it's about 60mm.

I could be wrong with the ratios though.

ok makes sense

.6, so with your back you're at like a .9? So now much wider, but slightly wider.

Are you going to pick up a different back for your Mamiya?

Going to try to sell it for 3500 and then buy another one from Capture Integration with a Leaf Aptus 22mp back for $5600... or save up for phase one like I'd like

Anyways.... if it was longer than the 35mm equivalent, it wouldn't be a medium format anymore as the sensor would be smaller than 35mm. Which would be a bit pointless. :p

Ah, sweet. :D

The 22mp is the 1.1 crop right? The 28 was 1.3?

I really do like how MF cameras are setup. The sensor and body are two separate pieces, it would be nice to have the flexibility with SLR's.

True... maybe FF sensors would be more affordable then.

In all reality it would probably cost more. :p

But.. if you want a crop and FF back, it may be a bit cheaper than say buying a 7D/5D.

I know there was one company who was trying this on their mirrorless cameras. I don't know if they ever made it to market though.
